The Mental Chaos of Deciding What to Eat Every Single Day

“What to eat this fine day,
In The Realm hot sun ray,
Dal I had for lunch,
Rotis are becoming everyday bunch,
Cutlets are an snacky eve,
But deciding upon dinner would then be daily grief,
Breakfasts light,
Alas, what should I take in my everyday diet.”

A common question that may arise is: what to eat? Sometimes, isn’t there a feeling that you are bored of everything, or you feel you have already eaten that quite some days ago? In the Hindi language, we often hear the saying, “Kya bnaau/bnwaau, samajh mein bhi toh nahi aata,” and that stands true for all of us indeed. To get out of this chaos, some people with a running 9–5 schedule prepare timetables, some prefer to skip meals in this chaos, and you may have your own ways out. The fun part is that this has become a routine. From those tasteless bottle gourds, of course examples may vary and yours may be different to those sugary, tasty cold coffees that cannot be taken daily, we are reverted to having a balanced diet.

Further, eating is often associated with stress. We have cravings for chocolates, chips, some specific special food we like to eat, or simply some unseasonal cravings like ice creams in winters and whatnot. People tend to directly associate it with stress, isn’t it? We, as human beings, love to crave, but unfortunately our pockets and health do not let us do so every day.

You are free to crave to avoid this monotonous life, to be honest, where you need to think of what you wish to eat every single day. The chaos ends there and then. This will surely make you comfortable. When you don’t feel like doing anything, craving is surely an intrinsic motivation. It makes you feel what is the most important emotion in life that is your happiness, your joy and none other but your precious smile. Now, let us remove our misconceptions: there is no right time to crave, and it’s okay if your cravings change, your likes and dislikes change. When cravings make you travel, it is then you realise.

But a word of caution is that craving should not replace a balanced diet. They are just those cherries on the monotonous cake, i.e., of course, our daily routine, which makes it delicious and decorative, that is , gives relief from chaos. Physical health and a balanced diet directly impact your circulation and stress. Highly sugary and processed food increases endorphin levels and increases stress, and we all indeed know distress creates chaos in life.

Dear readers, take it easy, or grab a relaxing coffee if needed. It’s okay to be confused, eating is just a simple activity of the day. And confusion is a feeling that will go, like other emotions within us. Just stay healthy and find a way out in any cravings you wish to have at any moment of distress.
